I love the Farmer's Market held in Santa Monica every Wednesday and Saturday mornings. This Wednesday I was able to go and pick up a bunch of fresh produce for the Fourth of July. I can't believe I got a three pound slab of fresh albacore for twenty dollars. That went on the grill, along with vegetables and baby potatoes, accompanied by a salad made of spicy mustard lettuce mix and locally made goat cheese, for dinner Wednesday night. I have to admit it was fabulous and my friends thought so too.
We are so lucky here in Southern California that we have these markets year round. There really is a difference between what you buy here and the stuff they have in the super markets. I just have to remember to buy only what I need and not everything I see.
