One of the best things about this trip was being able to see all of my daughter's friends. I was lucky enough to be able to attend a baby shower for her friend Bethany and see all the old Notre Dame girls. What a great bunch of girls. Loved the architectural display of Chicago. It put everything in perspective.A lot of celebrating going on with the winning of the Stanley Cup. I must add, it was a classy celebration, unlike the recent celebration in another city.
A shout out to Renee and her fabulous Fruit Pizza. Martha Stewart has nothing on you. Love the architecture in this city. Quite a change from Southern California where the highlight of prime architecture is the original McDonald's.
This park reminded me of being in Paris. Of course it is located on the Gold Coast, in Oprah's neighborhood, so you know it is well maintained. Not too many homeless people hanging out here.
Congratulations to Na (ña) for graduating from medical school. She is off to Oakland to intern, and the world couldn't be getting a more caring, loving doctor. No trip to Chicago is complete without a trip to the Art Institute and the fabulous Georgia Okeefe.
My sister was in her glory as we attended the famous Chicago Blues Festival. Too bad it had to rain, but like the typical Chicago weather, ten minutes later, the sun was out. They say in Chicago, it you don't like the weather, just wait ten minutes, it will change.
I love the way they keep the city clean, pretty and natural. I'm glad to see they are putting the sales tax money to good use.
I was so happy that my sister Cindy was able to join us and got to spend some quality time with her. That is a fountain behind us, not water coming out of her head.
